dc.description.abstractDuring the 1989 field season a programme of regional reconnaissance and follow up sampling was carried out over ELs 6291 to 6301. No field work was carried out over ELs 6286 to 6290 in the north. A total of 2,625 stream sediment and 76 loam samples were collected, and examined for diamonds and kimberlitic indicator minerals after treatment. Results are included in CR 1991-0213, because they were outstanding at the time of reporting. Possible kimberlitic indicators were identified from all of the licence areas sampled, with spinel being the dominant indicator recovered, which mainly occured in areas of volcanic bedrock. The ilmenites are considered to be derived from dolerites. Garnets and rare singleton diamonds were also recovered.en_US
