Abstract: | The East Alligator EL 23522 is located in West Arnhem Land approximately 280 km east of Darwin and has an area of 754 km2 (382 blocks). Cameco Australia Pty Ltd was granted the licence on the 26th February 2003 for a period of 6 years. In accordance with Sections 26 and 27 of the Mining Act, Cameco surrendered at least half the number of blocks on 26th February 2005, the end of the second year of tenure. All of the blocks surrendered are within a designated No Go Zone, as defined by the Northern Land Council on behalf of the Traditional Owners. Cameco has conducted nil exploration work within this area. |
