Abstract

Northern Cement Limited (hereinafter referred to as Northern Cement) operates a limestone quarry at Elsey Station, 30 kms from Mataranka Township. The area comprises Mineral Claims (Northern) (MCN) 2548, 2549, 2550, 2551, 2552, 2574, 674 and 685, and Mineral Lease 30212 and 30213. MCN 674, 685, 2548 to 2552 and 2574, and Mineral Leases 30212, and 30213 are held for mining purposes only, and as such, no exploration work has been carried out on these claims during this reporting period. All the tenements were purchased by Northern Cement Ltd from Blake Investments Pty Ltd in March 1990 to supply limestone for the quicklime kilns at Mataranka. During the 2017 reporting year, quarrying activity was conducted on MCN 2551 only. Tenements not subject to extractive activity are held as future limestone reserves.
