Report id: | NTGS Record 2023-014 |
Year: | 2023 |
Author: | Gomes, AS Bhowany, K Han, Z Nascimento S Jackson, L Parbhakar-Fox A |
Abstract: | The Brocks Creek mine is located in the north of the Northern Territory about 130 km southeast from Darwin. Historically, Brocks Creek mine focused on alluvial and underground gold mining and more recently gold production from open pits. Tailings at Brocks Creek mainly came from 3 different mines: Alligator, Faded Lilly and Zapopan (now Brocks Creek). The aim of this study was to characterise the geochemistry and mineralogy of the uncovered tailings and investigate potential critical mineral endowment. This study focuses on critical metals Bi, and Sb; ore commodities (Au) have also been assessed. |
