Abstract: | This report summarises exploration activity during 1996 and 2000. Work undertaken within the relinquished portion of the licence during 1996 included stream and bulk sampling for diamonds. No diamond indicators were identified in the sampling programs. An airborne geophysical survey was flown and three radiometric anomalies were identified. Two of them could not be investigated due to their location within restricted zone. The other was located within extensive swampy area on Jungle Creek and could not be accessed. Bleg sampling failed to locate any anomalous gold. During 1998 some regional geochemical evaluation was carried out. No major uranium anomalies were located, values ranged between 0.07 to 0.57 with the best results within King River drainage (1.64 to 4.74 ppm). Gold values ranged from 1 to 2 ppb. No further work was carried out in the relinquished area during 1999 field season. |
