Abstract: During the period 24th May, 1991 to 23rd May, 1995 Ashton Mining Limited, on behalf of the Australian Diamond Exploration Joint Venture (ADE JV), carried out an exploration programme over Exploration Licences 7266, 7300 and 7301, which form part of the Bauhinia Downs project tenements. In May, 1995 these tenements were reduced This repor(provides a summary of the exploration activities undertaken within the relinquished portion of these licences. Diamond exploration work consisted of open file data review and regional stream and loam sampling. A total of fifty-three samples were collected within the relinquished portions of ELs 7266, 7300 and 7301. All samples were forwarded to Ashton's Perth laboratory for processing. Sample results were considered poor, despite five samples reporting diamond occurrences. As no prospective patterns were discovered, further work within these areas was not warranted, and relinquishment was recommended.
