Northern Territory geochemical and drilling datasets

Title: Northern Territory geochemical and drilling datasets
Abstract: DIP001 includes drillhole collars, drillhole sample assays, drillhole downhole survey, drillhole maximum assays, rock samples, soil samples and stream sediment sample data from industry statutory reports and from NTGS projects. The selected datasets provide an overview of the geochemistry and drilling of the Northern Territory. NT Geochemistry and Drilling Data Package layers are provided in ESRI SHP and geodatabase, MapInfo tab and csv file formats, bundled into ArcMap document file (mxd) and MapInfo workspace (wor) respectively for ease of use. Complete raw geochemistry files (including assay repeats) and associated laboratory metadata are also included in csv format.

Compilation of geophysical data in the broader Pine Creek region, Northern Territory

Title: Compilation of geophysical data in the broader Pine Creek region, Northern Territory
Abstract: The Pine Creek Orogen hosts many high-grade gold, uranium and rare earth element deposits and mines, where the application of geophysical exploration has played a major role in their discovery. Statutory reporting of exploration activities, along with the submission of geophysical survey data provides a rich source of information. This Digital Information Package (DIP) has been compiled to assist the resource exploration industry by collating these and other geophysical datasets over the Pine Creek Orogen and broader region. The DIP contains a spatial index, grids and images of ground gravity, airborne magnetic and radiometric, and induced polarisation (IP) surveys. The DIP also contains a spatial index of Geoscience Australia's Woolner Granite and Rum Jungle TEMPEST AEM Survey.

Rock property dataset of the Northern Territory

Title: Rock property dataset of the Northern Territory
Author: Eagleton, P
Abstract: The Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) has undertaken a Territory-wide compilation of rock property data focussing on the key properties of magnetic susceptibility, bulk density, grain density, porosity, velocity and permeability. This DIP is a compilation of rock property measurements sourced from open file company reports, core sampling reports, government publications, academic publications and new measurements made by NTGS.; In this release petrophysical data for 17 diamond drillholes were added. In 2023 NTGS started collecting propagation velocity of compressional longitudinal wave (Vp) using a handheld instrument (Surfer UK1401- Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Tester.) The Vp is measured by timing an ultrasonic pulse over 15 cm of unbroken rock.

Warburton-Pedirka-Eromanga basins SEEBASE update

Title: Warburton-Pedirka-Eromanga basins SEEBASE update
Abstract: The Northern Territory SEEBASE is a regional map and grid of the depth to economic basement for petroleum systems. The SEEBASE maps the basin shape and depth by mapping major basement structures and the base of the sedimentary structures. The Warburton-Pedirka-Eromanga SEEBASE Update has redefined basement structures and tectonic events, as well as refined the depth and geometry of the overlying basin systems of the Northern Territory SEEBASE in the south east of the Northern Territory. This update was completed by Geognostics Australia Pty Ltd on behalf of NTGS.
