AB  - In 1988, Pacific Oil &Gas Pty Ltd acquired almost 260 kilometres of seismic data in exploration permit EP5 in the Northern Territory. The data was processed by Digital Exploration Limited in Brisbane. Control for the interpretation was provided by 7 exploration wells drilled in EP5 by Pacific Oil & Gas Pty Ltd. The area has identified petroleum potential with the Maiwok Subgroup Velkerri Formation having demonstrated source potential, and the underlying Bessie Creek Sandstone showing favourable reservoir characteristics. Interpretation of the seismic data has resulted in the delineation of the major leads and prospects in the Bessie Creek Sandstone. It also included the delineation of the structure near the base of the Roper group. This report has concluded that none of the major leads and prospects meets the exploration targets as defined the report.
