AB  - Regional MSS (multi-spectral scanning) satellite data has been acquired and processed using a GIS (geographic information system) at Adelaide River to determine regional geological and structural trends in EL 7786. SPOT panchromatic images were also processed using the GIS to obtain local geological and geographical information. The information produced from the GIS imaging was incorporated in the planning and targeting of the 1995 infill soil sampling program in this tenement. Infill soil sampling has been completed in two areas of EL 7786 targeting regional soil Au anomalies identified in the 1994 field season. Results from the infill soil sampling show a number of coincident northeast trending Au and As anomalies with assays to 490 ppb Au and 650 ppm As. These anomalies are located on the same northeast striking mineralised structure on the northwestern margin of the Burnside Batholith. Further work will include a program of additional infill soil sampling, lithological and structural mapping and RAB bedrock drilling over the anomalies to identify the source of bedrock Au mineralisation.
