Historically the area has been explored for diamonds, phosphate and copper and the tenements were picked up by Toro to explore for uranium. Work completed from grant to surrender, included; 4174 line kilometres (362 sq km) of airborne magnetic-radiometrics; and 278 soil and 27 rock chip samples. After review of all work completed Toro found that both EL 27429 and EL 29636 were likely to be un-prospective for economic uranium deposits. For this reason Toro has opted to surrender these tenements, and focus its resources on other, more prospective, ground that it currently holds.
