AB  - Principal commodities sought are uranium and diamonds. Past exploration has comprised heavy mineral sampling for kimberlitic indicator minerals. However no kimberlitic rocks or definitive indicator minerals have yet been located. Exploration by Stockdale Prospecting Limited (CR1991-0329) indicates EL 26115 is unlikely to contain primary diamondiferous kimberlites. No open file reports were located dealing specifically with uranium exploration within EL 26115. Normandy Exploration Limited (CR1996-0819) concluded that the depth of Cambrian cover, in the vicinity of the township of Mataranka, was prohibitive for the exploration of Late Proterozoic, sediment-hosted Zn-Pb mineralisation. Activities included literature searches and data base compilation. Open file company reports were obtained from the Northern Territory Geological Survey and a review of past exploration data and geological concepts undertaken. Airphoto interpretation has identified geological and structural features for ground reconnaissance. During the term Diamantina Uranium Pty Ltd also negotiated the purchase of private company exploration reports. Limestone resources within EL 26115 are also reviewed.
