The relinquished portions of EL 119 comprise of four irregular shaped areas. The two small separate relinquished areas in the western part of EL 119 mostly contain Kombolgie Formation with the Plum Tree Creek Volcanic Member also predominant in the south-west. The large eastern portion contains Fisher Creek Siltstones and Zamu Complex with extensive soil cover. The Malone Creek Granite is located in the western part of this relinquished area. A small isolated portion in the southern part of EL 119 is within the Grace Creek Granite. Most of the exploration in the relinquished areas comprised ground investigations of 27 airborne radiometric anomalies detected by Geophysical Resources Development Company in 1970 and by Geometrics International Corporation in 1972. In 1971 Noranda Australia Limited re-interpreted the 1970 airborne survey data and additional airborne radiometric anomalies delineated by this re-appraisal were also investigated. Surface geological mapping of the airborne radiometric anomalies was carried out in conjunction with ground radiometric investigations. Geological and radiometric traversing was also conducted along the Kombolgie Formation escarpment to investigate Lower Proterozoic rocks beneath the unconformity between the Middle and Lower Proterozoic sequences.
