A1 - Reveleigh, GC, A1 - Australia Consolidated Minerals PY - 1975/// Y1 - 1975/ AB - Prior to December 1974, the exploration programme consisted of surface geological mapping, costeaning, re-logging and storage of core from the previous drilling programme and interpretation of the results so obtained. To assist with this work, an accurate 50 m square grid was surveyed over the prospect area. These results were communicated to Mr Longman of Australian Consolidated Minerals NL at a meeting in Adelaide in December 1974. This report summarises the results of the exploration programme carried out at Northern Star during the period January to August 1975. These results were presented to Burt & Owers in Adelaide on 21st August 1975. During the period, the exploration programme has consisted primarily of diamond drilling. Considerable difficulty was experienced in the initial stages with drilling of the hematite-jasper rock type, necessitating the abandonment of several holes. A total of five holes have been successfully completed from 9 attempts, for a total of 2585.92 m drilled. A programme of reassaying sample pulps from a previous drilling programme for a wider range of elements was undertaken. In addition, all unsplit mineralisation from the previous drilling was split and assayed. The old shaft was re-opened to allow inspection, mapping and sampling of the old workings at Northern Star. Most of the workings proved to be inaccessible, however, information gained from the old 200 level has been useful.
