On the other hand Cyprus believed sulphidic lithologies of the South Alligator Group to represent the best host for gold mineralisation. This report details the work carried out by both CSR and Cyprus on relinquished blocks. CSR's programme included stream sediment sampling and rock chip sampling, while Cyprus flew an aeromagnetic survey over the licence, and used Thematic Mapping to map mejor rock units in the region and to delineate subordinate members within these. As a consequence structural features not mappable at ground level can be recorded and ferruginous units targeted for sampling. A total of 16 rock chip samples were collected and analysed by Cyprus. No significant results were returned from this sampling. CSR's work resulted in anomalous values which peaked at 5.7ppb Au. This anomaly was believed to have come from the Koolpin Formation.
