Abstract: Top End Energy applied for the licence to explore for coal occurrences within the Permian stratigraphy. Exploration involved preliminary photogeology interpretation using LANDSAT remote sensing products and compilation of waterbore drilling. In total 191 km2 of satellite imagery was processed and interpreted by Global Ore Discovery Consulting. Historic logging of waterbores is of uncertain reliability and the bores are typically drilled less than 65m deep. The majority of the waterbores record sediments that are interpreted to be the Permian Kulshlll Group. No field-based exploration was completed on this tenement. The title has been surrendered due to an inability to raise funds to support further exploration in the current market where commodity prices and investor support for coal exploration are substantially reduced.
