Title: | Final report for EL 9595, for the period ending 28/09/2005 |
Title Holder / Company: | Inminerals |
Report id: | CR2005-0371 |

Year: | 2005 |
Abstract: | Initial creek sampling over the project area indicated that sections of the Florence Creek contained potentially economic garnet bearing alluvial and detritial deposits. In addition, Irindina Gneiss thought to be suitable for the extraction of coarse-grained hard-rock garnet. However, due to the localised nature of garnet concentrations in the Irindina Gneiss which are generally randomly distributed, prevented further progress on the hard rock resources. New alluvial zones examined ranged form a low of 3.91% to a high of 7.22% garnet. These and other assays from Florence Creek are marginal. Other mineral species were considered and dry processing was investigated. The rapidly evolving and tightening specifications for garnet sands and garnet products and a better appreciation of the Harts Range garnet terrane have caused a change of direction and Inminerals has decided to surrender the tenement. |
