Abstract: | Exploration undertaken in the first year of tenure comprised of data acquisition and interpretation. The open-file airborne magnetic data for the Ptilotus and Davidson map sheets have been purchased, but the portion of the EL which falls on the Tanami 250K sheet has been covered by an airborne magnetic survey. Both data sets were merged and processed. While the area is generally covered by sandplains, airborne magnetic data suggests that lower proterozoic rocks form a small portion of the licence area and granite makes up much of the area remaining. Colour aerial photography was also flown and Landsat images were purchased. All available data were utilized in order to assist in preparation and target selection. |
